How Music can Change your Mood

When music is recorded the energy and artist expression is captured forever. When you listen back to it the mood is recreated around you. You can hear the happiness is someone’s voice or the pain and sorrow if the song is sad. Instruments can also play happy or sad music. Major chords and scales are associated with happy and Minor is generally sad.

If the music is about heart brake which it often is. (Right now I’m hearing the lyrics “With or without you” by U2 over my radio) It can bring up old memories. People love to hear songs with a common feeling to how they feel or have felt. Think about your favourite songs. I’m sure you can relate to the topic in someway.

Music is used in film and television to change mood and set an atmosphere. Often you don’t even notice the songs in a film. There are so many films that bring out soundtracks and when I see the track list I think, “Wow I don’t remember hearing that song on there”.

Can music change your mood? I think there is no question music can change your mood.

So next time your feeling blue why not put on your favourite song and turn that frown upside down!

I agree, music has the ability to change your mood. Whenever I get pissed music helps me forget why I even got pissed for.

There are a few songs that really get me going, work and inspirationally speaking. One of them is “This Is Your Life” by Switchfoot. It is really motivational for me. I like this topic. I think I’ll be adding an entry about it. Link-love to follow! ;)
