Inspirational Design - Guest Post

This week my fiancee Nikki will be guest posting on my blog. I hope you enjoy!

Inspirational Design

This is a site dedicated to design, imagery and curation. As an artist and designer I find this site very inspirational. It showcases things that are not only well designed but also pleasing to the eye. They broaden your mind to how something as simple as a chair can be made into a work of art.

Inspirational Libary Chair

This is one design that I found inspiring. The “bibliochaise” by nobody&co is not only a chair but also a library. I think the thing I like most about it is how they’ve brought together two separate objects that are associated with each other and brought them together as one. It made me think about applying the same idea to other objects.

Their sister site is for collecting fascinating images and links. Their main aim was to create a site for “instant gratification” making design research and generating ideas as easy as flicking through a magazine. You don’t have to search through pages and pages to find something you like. There is something to suit everyone, whether Buddha pudding moulds are your thing, or if you just like looking at new designs.

I think this is one of the most image inspiring sites on the net. There’s so much content its hard not to be. I don’t know any other place (or haven’t yet found another place) on the net that has so many designs and inspirational ideas. Let me know what you think.

What a cool chair! I love to sit and read, and am usually surrounded by stacks of books even if I’m not reading- I would love a chair like that, and it’s even in my favorite color- RED!!!
