Hi Tom,

Success is a journey, not a destination. It is NOT permanent and largely a matter of holding on after others have let go. It is the courage to continue that counts.

Indeed, this is a great question that all of us should ask as early as possible in life!

Best Wishes

I love your second quote! I often remind myself that Success is Getting What You Want; Happiness is Wanting What You Get. (Dale Carnegie)

Defining success is key. If we don't know exactly what it means to us, how will we know when we achieve it? How will we enjoy our journeys along the way?

Additionally, it's too easy to fit and contort ourselves into someone else's definition of success. We must all investigate, examine, understand, and question the assumptions that have become a part of us through the years.

To me, success is taking responsibility for myself, taking action to learn, grow, and become the best person I can be, and accepting the outcomes. It's the last part that is the true measure of one's own success.

What do I have to do to achieve it? I have to remain honest, open, willing, giving, and teachable. Great things come from that foundation.
