Start Seeing Things Differently

Everything in life exists how you personally see it. If you have a belief then to you it’s true. If you think you are fat then you are fat. If you think you’re a failure then you are. You might not really be to the rest of the world. But in your brain you are fat!
The way to over come negativity is to start seeing things differently. This works for goals too. Here are some common goals or New Year’s Resolutions.
Lose Weight
Drink less alcohol
Stop eating chocolate
Give up junk food
These all sound like worthwhile goals, don’t they? Well In the case of the goal ‘lose weight’ you are reinforcing a very negative body image. You are telling yourself you are fat. So you feel bad and then properly go eat some junk. As for the chocolate and alcohol by having those as goals you are focusing on them. So if you constantly keep reminding yourself not to eat chocolate, there’s a good chance you will trigger a craving for it. After all, you will be thinking about it much more than normal.
The above goals and to do with a ‘loss’ because you are telling yourself you can’t have something. Here are better alternatives to those goals.

| Stop eating chocolate | Buy health foods/eat a healthy diet |
| Give up junk food | Learn more about healthy foods |
These new positive goals are much easier to achieve. You can buy healthier food when you go shopping. Put a big bottle of water in the fridge. Read online and learn about healthy foods and you can set a exercise schedule.
There is one thing you still need WILL POWER! That part is up to you!
I hope this has helped explain how to see things differently. Obviously you can change the idea to fit your own goals. So Start seeing things differently and make sure your goals are positive ones!

I don’t have any plans of giving up chocolate either Borzack!
I’m sure some people give it up for new year ect
I gave up caffiene for 6 months, which includes chocolate… you actually get used to it after about, 5 months and 30 days
