Tantalizing Tentacles - Guest Post
PYG- Design are a design company in Germany. They have some very interesting designs for furniture, bags and accessories. Not everything in their relatively small selection is fantastic though. However the things that are, are quite innovative.
This is a blanket designed with ‘tentacle-like’ holes so that you can be warm but still be able to see and use your arms. It’s functional and aesthetically pleasing. This defiantly inspired me to make something similar just for the cool look. The tentacle idea seems to be a reoccurring theme in the design ideas. But I like that.
Another of my favourite PYG-design designs is their giant tetris cushions. Although they don’t look very comfortable I think the idea is good. It’s amazing how just enlarging something, or taking a 2d thing and making it 3d, can completely reinvent the use of an object.
