Get Inspired to Write a Song
Have you ever tried writing a song before? If not then why not try it and have some fun! There are many ways to go about it, here are some idea’s
* Start with some lyrics. Writing lyrics is very much like simple poetry.
* Take a song you like and re-write the words
* If you play an instrument coming up with something new could turn into a song. Put a few different chords or notes together.
Get Inspired!
* Start with a Title- Once you have a title you can turn that into the main line in the chorus and work the topic around it.
* Listen to a Song – Pick a song you love and write something similar.
* Tell a story – a story of something that happened makes a great song idea. Many songs are stories of losing a lover for example.
* Watch a Film -Writing your own soundtrack could be fun to do. Trying to write something that fits the feel and mood of the film can be challenging but good fun.
There really are no rules with song writing. So just have a go. Writing a song for someone else can be a really nice gift. Even if you can’t sing or play an instrument you could still write the words in a card, letter or e-mail and send it to them.
I’d love to hear or read any songs you have written. Feel free to give links in a comment to your music if you have any already or if you write anything after reading this post.
Happy Song Writing!

I have a great song I wrote (sung to the tune of Stop in the name of love) — It’s called: Stop in the name of health, before you kill yourself (for full lyrics go here

but be warned the tune can get stuck in your head and before you know you it - you are inspired to eat healthier!

Great song! It’s cool you wrote it to inspire people to eat healthier. Have you tried recording it yet?
